Terms of Service

These Terms of Service explain how GPLDL accounts, memberships, downloads, payments, refunds, licensing notices and service rules work.

Last updated

June 14, 2026. These Terms are written for the GPLDL web service and are reviewed when the operator, checkout flow, membership model, providers or applicable law changes.

1. Agreement

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and GPLDL for use of the GPLDL website, member area, repository pages, checkout flow, protected download delivery, account tools and related support workflows.

By visiting GPLDL, creating an account, starting checkout, downloading files, contacting support or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and to thePrivacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use GPLDL.

GPLDL may update these Terms when the service, law, providers or risk model changes. Material updates may require renewed acceptance before account, checkout or download access continues.

2. What GPLDL Provides

GPLDL is an independent repository and member service for WordPress-related software files, including plugins, themes and WooCommerce-related extensions that GPLDL understands to be distributed under the GNU General Public License or compatible free-software terms.

GPLDL provides information, catalog metadata, membership access rules, protected digital download delivery, account tools and support for GPLDL account or delivery issues.

GPLDL is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or officially connected with WordPress plugin or theme developers whose product names appear in the repository. Product names, developer names and trademarks are used for identification and compatibility reference.

GPLDL does not sell or provide developer support accounts, vendor license keys, serial numbers, SaaS accounts, hosted services, premium cloud libraries, automatic vendor update channels, private vendor dashboards or permission to use third-party trademarks outside ordinary identification.

3. GPL Rights and Service Terms

Many WordPress plugins and themes are licensed under theGNU General Public License. The GPL grants recipients important freedoms over GPL-covered code, including the freedom to run, study, share and modify that code under the GPL.

These Terms govern your relationship with GPLDL as a website and membership service. They do not remove, limit or replace rights you receive directly under the GPL for GPL-covered code.

GPL rights over code are separate from third-party trademarks, developer support services, vendor update systems, SaaS functionality, hosted APIs and account-based services. A file can be GPL-covered while separate services around that file remain unavailable without a direct relationship with the original developer.

If a repository item includes assets, documentation, fonts, images, trademarks, APIs, cloud features or other components that are not covered by the same GPL terms as the PHP, JavaScript, CSS or other source code, you are responsible for respecting those separate rights and notices.

4. Accounts and Eligibility

You must provide accurate account information, keep your email address current, maintain the confidentiality of your password and session access, and notify GPLDL if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not sell, rent, share, transfer or pool GPLDL accounts, login credentials, session cookies, signed download URLs or nonpublic member-area access. This account rule applies to the GPLDL service infrastructure and does not restrict GPL rights you may have in downloaded code.

GPLDL may require email verification before checkout or downloads. GPLDL may deny, suspend, restrict, close or refuse accounts when required for security, abuse prevention, payment risk, legal compliance, operational integrity, Terms violations or suspected misuse.

Do not create accounts or use GPLDL through automated, misleading, abusive or evasive methods, including credential stuffing, fake identities, disposable-address abuse, quota circumvention, scraper traffic, bot traffic, payment evasion or attempts to bypass download controls.

5. Free and Paid Memberships

A free membership allows the free-file download access shown on the website, currently one free download in each 24-hour account window, subject to email verification, account standing, file availability and service rules.

Paid memberships are one-time, non-recurring payments for the published access term and download quota shown at checkout. Current paid plans are one month with 150 downloads, one year with 1,500 downloads, and business one year with 9,000 downloads, unless the checkout page shows a different current offer.

Paid memberships support GPLDL repository maintenance, acquisition of source materials, infrastructure, security work and the broader free-software mission. GPLDL describes these payments as contributions or donations to the project while also granting the specific digital access shown at checkout.

Paid access starts only after GPLDL verifies a completed server-side PayPal capture and grants the entitlement in the GPLDL system. Browser state, PayPal approval pages, client-side messages or screenshots are not proof of entitlement.

New paid checkouts can be blocked while an existing paid membership is active so that members do not accidentally overlap access terms.

6. Payments, Taxes and PayPal

Paid checkout is processed through PayPal in USD unless the checkout page states otherwise. PayPal may offer PayPal account, card or guest checkout options depending on PayPal availability, location, risk checks and PayPal account settings.

GPLDL creates and captures PayPal Orders server-side and stores payment evidence needed to verify orders, captures, refunds, disputes, chargebacks and entitlement changes.

You are responsible for any taxes, duties, currency conversion charges, bank fees or payment-provider fees that apply to your purchase or contribution. PayPal or your payment method provider may apply additional terms.

GPLDL may refuse or cancel checkout attempts that fail validation, use unsupported currencies, conflict with an active membership, appear fraudulent, violate these Terms or cannot be safely reconciled with PayPal records.

7. Digital Delivery, Refunds and Withdrawal Rights

Membership access and ZIP downloads are digital content and digital service access. Once access has been granted or a file has been downloaded, the access and files cannot be returned in the way physical goods can be returned.

Paid memberships are generally non-refundable after digital access begins or downloads are issued, except where mandatory law requires otherwise or GPLDL decides to grant a courtesy refund after review.

Where consumer withdrawal or cooling-off rights apply, by requesting immediate digital access you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you may lose the right to withdraw once GPLDL begins delivering the digital service or digital content. GPLDL may require any legally required checkout acknowledgement before granting immediate access.

Refund requests must be sent through the GPLDL contact form with the account email, PayPal transaction ID, plan, date and clear reason. GPLDL may review account activity, download history, payment state, dispute state, abuse signals and legal obligations before deciding.

A refund, reversed payment, chargeback or buyer-favor dispute may revoke paid access, return the account to the free plan, disable payment or download access, or require additional support review. This does not delete GPL rights in code you already lawfully received, but it can end access to GPLDL's member service and future downloads.

Claims that a plugin or theme requires a vendor license key, serial number, hosted service, developer support account, SaaS connection or original-vendor update channel do not by themselves mean GPLDL failed to deliver its service, because GPLDL provides access to available code downloads and not those separate third-party services.

8. Downloads, Updates and File Availability

Repository contents, versions, file availability, categories, quotas, metadata and access levels can change. GPLDL may add, remove, hide, retire, replace or update listings when needed for licensing review, security, quality, operational capacity, source availability, takedown requests or project priorities.

GPLDL aims to provide original, unmodified, malware-free files, but you are responsible for testing downloads before using them on production websites. Use staging environments, backups, code review, security scans and compatibility checks appropriate for your project.

GPLDL does not guarantee that every file will work with every WordPress version, hosting environment, PHP version, WooCommerce version, theme, plugin stack or configuration.

Active membership may allow access to currently available versions for covered categories, subject to quota and account standing. GPLDL does not promise a specific update frequency, permanent availability of any item, older-version archives or real-time parity with original vendor releases.

9. Acceptable Use

You may not use GPLDL to attack, disrupt, scrape, overload, probe, reverse engineer service controls, bypass authentication, bypass quota, harvest accounts, harvest nonpublic URLs, compromise downloads, evade payment restrictions, launder disputes or interfere with other users.

You may not upload, submit or transmit malware, secrets, payment card data, license keys, passwords, unlawful content, defamatory content, threats, spam, phishing content, automated abuse traffic or content that violates another person's rights.

You may not misrepresent GPLDL as the original developer, imply endorsement by third-party developers, use third-party marks in a confusing way, or use GPLDL content to deceive customers about source, support, warranty or affiliation.

GPLDL may rate-limit, block, restrict, suspend, terminate, preserve evidence, report abuse or take other protective measures when it reasonably believes service abuse, payment abuse, security risk, legal risk or Terms violations are present.

10. Support Boundaries

GPLDL support is limited to GPLDL account access, membership state, payment reconciliation, protected download delivery, website errors, privacy requests and repository notices.

GPLDL does not provide installation services, customization, troubleshooting of third-party products, compatibility debugging, vendor support, security remediation for your website, license activation, SaaS access, hosted API access or help bypassing technical restrictions.

If your project depends on direct developer support, automatic vendor updates, hosted services, template libraries, cloud features, license activation or guaranteed compatibility, you should buy the appropriate plan directly from the original developer.

11. Copyright, Licensing and Trademark Notices

GPLDL respects intellectual property rights and reviews specific notices about repository items, copyright, licensing, trademark confusion, malware, altered files, privacy or other legal concerns.

Send notices through the GPLDL contact form and include enough information to identify the material, the exact URL or file name, your relationship to the rights holder, the legal basis for the request, relevant license terms, and a reliable way to respond.

Because GPLDL focuses on GPL-covered WordPress software, a useful notice should address the actual license issue, not only the fact that a premium product is available for download. GPL-covered code may be lawfully shared under GPL terms, while trademarks, hosted services and support accounts remain separate.

GPLDL may remove, hide, restrict, annotate or restore material based on review, counter-information, legal obligations, risk, source verification or project policy.

12. No Professional Advice

GPLDL pages about the GPL, WordPress licensing, privacy, security, payments and operations are provided for general information. They are not legal, tax, accounting, security, engineering or professional advice for your situation.

You are responsible for deciding whether GPLDL downloads, membership access, licensing assumptions, deployment choices and support boundaries fit your use case and jurisdiction.

13. Disclaimers

GPLDL is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GPLDL disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility, support availability, update availability and security perfection.

GPLDL does not warrant that downloads will be free from every defect, vulnerability, incompatibility or third-party dependency. Always test and back up your websites before installing or updating software.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees or rights that mandatory law does not allow GPLDL to exclude.

14. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GPLDL will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages; lost profits; lost revenue; lost data; business interruption; reputational harm; website downtime; security incidents on your website; or costs of substitute services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GPLDL's total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to GPLDL for the membership period giving rise to the claim, or USD 20 if you used only free access.

The liability limits do not apply where mandatory law prohibits a limit, including for intentional misconduct or other non-excludable liability.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold GPLDL harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, infringement of rights, misleading redistribution, account sharing, payment abuse, security abuse or unlawful conduct.

This indemnity does not limit rights you have under the GPL for GPL-covered code, and it does not apply where prohibited by mandatory consumer law.

16. Changes, Suspension and Termination

GPLDL may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the website, member area, plans, quotas, repository, download system, payment flow or support workflows when needed for maintenance, security, licensing review, provider changes, capacity, legal risk or project direction.

You may stop using GPLDL at any time. Account deletion or closure requests can be sent through the contact form, but GPLDL may retain records required for security, payment, tax, accounting, dispute, audit or legal purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.

Sections that by nature should survive termination remain effective, including GPL and service-boundary language, payment records, refund effects, acceptable use, intellectual property notices, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity and dispute-related terms.

17. Governing Law and Mandatory Rights

Any governing law or venue stated in GPLDL's separate legal notice applies to the extent permitted by mandatory law. If no separate legal notice applies, disputes are handled under the mandatory laws and competent courts that apply to the user and the operator.

Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer, privacy, payment, copyright or free-software rights that apply under mandatory law.

GPL Rights Preserved

The Terms govern GPLDL accounts and service access, not the GPL freedoms attached to GPL-covered code.

No Vendor Services

Memberships do not include license keys, serial numbers, SaaS access, hosted services, automatic vendor updates or developer support.

Digital Access Rules

Paid access is one-time, non-recurring and generally non-refundable after immediate digital access or downloads begin, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
